Kotisatama Ensikoti for a baby family

Perhepalvelukeskus Kotisatama offers a first aid service to support families in parenting and life management through family rehabilitation.

A first-time carer service can be offered to a family with a baby who is about to be born or has already been born. In a first home, the whole life situation of the family is assessed in a holistic way. We aim to strengthen those things that are the family's strengths and to address vulnerabilities.

There is a lot of support for the development and strengthening of a good relationship between the baby and the parent. Taking into account the overall well-being of the family, baby-centred everyday life and baby care and coping with everyday life are taught one small step at a time.

The development and strengthening of social relationships, such as good sibling relations, is also supported. A structured weekly routine brings security and stability to the family's daily life.

You are welcome to come to Ensikoti (First Home) in Kotisatama during your pregnancy or with a small baby. The whole family is welcome to come if it is possible for you. The family lives in a unit, a beautifully furnished, very comfortable - very private - rehabilitation home, a studio, a two-bedroom or a three-bedroom.

The duration of the Ensikoti rehabilitation period is always agreed with the social worker according to the needs of the family. Perhepalvelukeskus Kotisatama helps with transport between the family rehabilitation home and your own home.

If you feel that you would like to join the Kotisatama Ensikoti, you can contact us, the child welfare office or the child protection social worker in your welfare area. In good cooperation with the social worker, your family will be offered the best possible support and help in Kotisatama.

In a first home, your baby will have a safe environment, good care and the whole family is sure to receive first-class, holistic care.

The first moments with a baby can be a mixture of many different emotions, different life situations, fatigue, past life and the future can be exciting. Every family is different, each with its own story, and all of us need help and support at some point.

Perhepalvelukeskus Kotisataman terapeuttin työssä työnohjaajana toimii Merita Kattelus. Hän on koulutukseltaan yksilö-, pari-, ja vaativan erityistason perhepsykoterapeutti sekä työnohjaaja. Hänellä on vuosikymmenten kokemus lastensuojelualan yrittäjyydestä, hän on toiminut oman lastensuojelulaitoksen ja perhekuntoutusyksikön toimitusjohtajana.
